For the success of your business. Enterprise System Management Solution

HULFTSaison Information Systems Co., Ltd.

HULFT is software that performs a variety of operations, such as file transfers, between different platforms connected over a network using TCP/IP. It can, of course, be used on platforms connected over a LAN as well as those on a public network. Companies that introduce HULFT can easily and securely exchange data between computers with different encoding systems and file systems. Introducing HULFT also transforms a mainframe-based centralized processing system to a distributed open system, making the exchange of data between networks go smoothly.

Store and Forward

HULFT automates store and forwarding of files between multiple platforms connected over a LAN/WAN using the industry standard protocol TCP/IP, thereby supporting enhanced daily file transfer.

HULFT has features such as automatic recovery when a data transfer aborts and broadcast delivery that simultaneously transfers files to multiple points. In addition, it employs intermittent transfer to prevent mass data transfers from monopolizing the network, a real concern in actual operation. Furthermore, data can be automatically compressed and decompressed during file store and forward processing, thereby cutting the size of data transfers to nearly 90% (according to company test data) and minimizing network load. This store and forward functionality comes standard with a variety of features suitable for data warehousing as well as a variety of business systems, including ERP and EDI, enabling a flexible operation design.

And by introducing HULFT in combination with related products (optional), you can use it on a broadband environment by means of an Internet connection environment that adds security functionality and a HULFT PPP server and HULFT BB client that add public line (analog lines and ISDN, ADSL, and FTTH) connection functionality.

Store and Forward Management

The status of file store and forwarding can be viewed on a management screen on each platform, and instructions such as forward, re-forward, and cancel can be issued with simple operations. In addition, management items for daily operations management are fully covered, including transmittal confirmation, count check, error information, and output of various history information.

Application Interoperation

In addition to functionality that runs a variety of applications, including jobs and programs, in response to the processing results of file transfers, HULFT also provides functionality for notifying job execution results to the forwarding end. Seamless interoperation with applications is possible because post-store-and-forward information can be passed to post-store-and-forward user jobs as environment variables. Furthermore, automated/unattended operation can be powerfully promoted by pre-forwarding user job execution.

Execution results can be verified on a management screen, along with store-and-forward history status.

In addition, the use of HULFT API and commands enables other functionality from user applications, including HULFT store-and-forward requests, job state notifications, and history access.

It is even possible to run jobs on the destination host by using the commands offered by HULFT, regardless of file transfer processing. For example, a simple button click on a user application screen on a Windows PC can run a job on a mainframe, thereby enabling easy application interoperation.

Diverse Encoding Support

To implement store and forward processing for files on multivendor environments, various character encodings are converted to other encodings.
Encodings supported: EBCEDIC, ASCII (1-byte code), UTF-8, EUC, KEIS, Shift-JIS, JEF, IBM Kanji, and NEC Kanji (2-byte code).

This can be effectively utilized in transferring data from mission-critical systems on mainframes to UNIX, midrange computers, and even Windows, solving the issues that come with multivendor solutions.
