For the success of your business. Enterprise System Management Solution

FDR/UPSTREAM/SOSInnovation Data Processing, Inc

Transfers data super fast over a Symmetrix-ESP environment. Optimal for mass data backup/restore, including Oracle.

FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS integrates FDRSOS with FDR/UPSTREAM to offer a total backup solution for UNIX/PC systems. Since data is transferred super fast over EMC’s Symmetrix-ESP environment, it is optimal for mass data backup/restore, including Oracle.

FDRSOS backup time
8.7 minutes for a 4.3 GB full-volume backup
FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS backup time
1.9 minutes for a 322 MB incremental backup (14 files)
FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS using the Symmetrix-ESP environment can send data directly to the ESCON channel, rather than from the network.

Runs on an IBM 9672-R45 CPU and makes FDRSOS full-volume backups from a 4 GB Windows NT server to a Magstar tape drive. Executes incremental backups during the week.

FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS

Logical File Backup

  • Backup/restore of logical files.
  • Job scheduling between mainframes and UNIX/PCs and detailed adjustments.
  • Capable of integrated management that includes a variety of report output.

Incremental Backup

FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS integrates FDRSOS with FDR/UPSTREAM to offer a total backup solution for UNIX/PC systems. Its fast performance is optimal for mass database backup/restore, including Oracle.

For example, FDR/UPSTREAM checks whether files have been modified and then executes a local backup of only those files that have been modified on a dedicated disk volume on the Symmetrix-ESP environment.

At the same time, it allows fast backup to the mainframe over the ESP environment. In addition, this local backup can be left as is to allow for immediate recovery for when an emergency restore is required.

Fast Backup/Recovery

Using FDRSOS for full backup/restore and FDR/UPSTREAM/SOS for incremental backup/restore implements reliable, efficient, and fast backup/restore.
