Using FDRPAS enables the following processing on OS/390 or z/OS environments.

FFDRPAS is capable of swapping numerous volumes while still processing normal business.
Flexibility
FDRPAS is capable of swapping volumes, regardless of whether they are volumes being used by a single system or volumes connected to multiple LPARs or multiple systems on a complex/sysplex shared DASD.
I/O load balancing
When there is I/O overload on some disk subsystems and leeway on other subsystems, FDRPAS balances I/O loads and improves performance by modifying the structure of disk volumes.
Backups
When used with FDR InstantBackup, it enables the simple creation of point-in-time backups.
Monitoring
The ISPF interface allows migration tracking and onscreen monitoring/control of progress.
Example of FDRPAS Usage
A parallel migration of data from one IBM3390-3 ×10 volumes to another IBM3390-3 ×10 volumes completed in 6 minutes and 30 seconds.
