DCP (Data Compression Package)EXA CORPORATION
A data compression package that dramatically cuts the time and cost of system operation and is compatible with a variety of computer models.
DCP (Data Compression Package) is software for compressing data by file using two proprietary compression technologies. With accounting data, it can achieve compression up to about one-third to one-tenth the original size. This dramatically cuts the costs of systems divisions. It is also compatible with a number of general-purpose computers operating systems and enables the exchange of compressed data between different operating systems.
Free Trial
We offer a free one-month trial so that you can see the dramatic effects of DCP for yourself. We hold one-to-two-hour seminars as needed, so feel free to contact us at anytime.
Effective Use of Storage Resources
DCP is a software package mainly targeting the compression of sequential access method (SAM) files. Conserves disk space and MT/CT by compressing data to around one-third to one-tenth the original size.
- Delays disk additions
- Countermeasure for X37 abends
- Disk-based processing (from MT/CT processing) → Promotes automation
Shorter Data Transfer Time
Using DCP to compress files to be transferred from one-third to one-tenth of their original size dramatically shortens the time required for data transfers. Data transfer between different computer models is also supported.
- Shortens data transfer times.
- Cuts data transfer costs.
- Also supports data transfer between different computer models.
Shorter Processing Time for Batch Jobs
Building a DCP subprogram into the user program alleviates processing delays caused by I/O bottlenecks, thereby raising throughput.
